Emotional showcase of Pioneer’s final Goldschmied collection

Bangladesh-based Pioneer Denim celebrated the life of Adriano Goldschmied, showcasing his final collection for the mill, at an events space in Amsterdam on the eve of the Kingpins show.

The event was attended by his family, who joined brands, suppliers and friends to discuss their memories of the ‘Godfather of Denim’, who passed away on April 5.

His collection was developed in collaboration with Italian company Soko, which provided the chemistry for the washes and finishes.

The autumn-winter 2027 show also featured designs by Kentroy Yearwood, and was introduced by Sue Barrett.

Pioneer’s Christian Reca spoke of how Goldschmied left a mark on everyone who had the privilege of working with him, and how he believed in the value of the entire chain, from spinning to finishing. “That is something that everyone in this room and across the supply chain will understand deeply. Adriano didn't just design denim - he respected the people who made it,” he said.

“Tonight’s collection is about connections, about fashion, about bringing materials, ideas and people together. And in many ways, those connections are Adriano’s legacies. Not just the brands he built or the innovation he introduced, but the community he helped shape, the people he inspired and the path he opened. We are deeply grateful to have shared part of that journey with him.”
