New chapter for Sydney Sweeney at American Eagle

In a new campaign launched this week, Sydney Sweeney is back at American Eagle wearing shorts, the embodiment of summer, and shown in everyday settings, at home or on the beach. The US retailer is offering some 200 styles of shorts in various washes for women and men among the 850 pieces of the summer 2026 collection. 

The line-up includes a series of denim pieces whose sale will support Crisis Text Line, a mental health nonprofit backed by Ms Sweeney. American Eagle will donate 100% of the purchase price of these items, recognisable by a butterfly embroidery on the back pocket, to the organisation. 

Last fall, the retailer’s ‘Sydney Sweeney has great jeans’ campaign drew immense media coverage, resulting in a surge (short-lived) in the company’s stock price and a boost in denim sales, despite the controversial innuendo.
