Wrangler makes move into sunglasses market
Eyewear brand FGX International has signed a licensing partnership with Wrangler for a range of sunglasses and reading glasses inspired by rodeo fashion.
Select styles are already available in stores across North America and Latin America, with distribution set to expand over the course of this year.
Mark Flanagan, director of product development at FGX, said: “Wrangler is an iconic American brand, and we were thrilled to create eyewear that reflects their reputation as a trustworthy staple in American apparel.”
Douglas Parker, senior director of licensing at Wrangler-owner Kontoor Brands, added: “This venture seamlessly translates our commitment to authentic, everyday readiness into a new category, allowing our customers to experience the Wrangler lifestyle, and uncompromising value, in a brand-new way.”
Wrangler is in talks to sell denim brand Lee, to focus on growing Wrangler and Helly Hansen.
