Kingpins prepares Hangzhou show

Next week, Kingpins puts up its show at the ADM More in Hangzhou’s Gonshu District on May 21 and 22. The event has both a B2B and B2C angle, with a trade-only sector and spaces open to the general denim-loving public.

The programme of talks includes a denim forecast by BeDisobedient on both days, and two panel talks moderated by show manager Vivian Wang. She will discuss how China’s integrated supply chain is driving denim innovation with representatives of Advance Denim, Bestseller and Lenzing China on the first day. The second day’s talk delves into the new Chinese consumer with Sherrie Ho, from TOYOU?? and designer Cinzia Che. Denim consultant David Tring is moderating a panel on the role of artificial intelligence with Ryan Houlton, from Hong Kong PolyU, Jessica Lau, from Jeanologia and Alfie Chen, from Style3D. The Vintage Showroom’s Doug Gunn and Gruppo Basic International Limited’s Alan Chu are also programmed.

Kingpins is also busy preparing its event in Los Angeles next January, which will replace the New York winter edition, and takes place on January 12 and 13, 2027. The organisers have timed it to fit in between the Rose Bowl Flea Market and the Long Beach Antique Market, “a perfect week for anyone in denim, vintage, design and culture to be in LA,” they said.

The summer Kingpins show at Pier 36 / Basketball City in New York City is announced for July 22 and 23, 2026.
