AGI notes shift towards wellness with easy-wear collection
Pakistan-based mill and manufacturer AGI has said wellness has moved from a niche lifestyle trend to a global priority and as such, a capsule in its AW27 collection, the Wellness Edit, has been engineered for softness, flexibility and ease.
Aylin Sibel Beyce, who was named creative director last autumn, said: “The Wellness Edit reflects a holistic approach to denim that is better for the earth, better to wear and designed to resonate with how people want to feel in everyday life.”
Structured across four concepts, it explores different dimensions of comfort, materiality and performance:
• ‘Essentials’ highlights denim in its most authentic form, emphasising durability and character through hemp-based constructions. “This collection shows true character of the fabric and includes archival constructions,” Aylin told Inside Denim.
• ‘Grounded’ focuses on natural fibres, including regenerative and cotton-rich compositions, silk and recycled wool, offering breathable comfort and a connection to material origins.
• ‘Beauty Boost’ introduces functional innovation through collagen-infused denim and advanced performance stretch technologies. “For instance, we have used Lycra’s FitSense for targeted stretch,” she added, “designed to enhance comfort and support.”
• ‘Cocoon’ centres on soft, brushed textures that create a sense of warmth and ease, responding to the demand for more relaxed and comforting clothing.
“Innovation today is not only about performance, but about how products contribute to well-being,” said Henry Wong, VP of product development and marketing at AGI Denim. “With The Wellness Edit, we are combining advanced material development with a deeper understanding of comfort, flexibility and everyday wearability to create denim that aligns with how people want to live and feel.”
