Infinity Blue lights up John Lewis

Infinity Blue by Emily Gubbay – a start-up researching how to extract and reuse indigo from denim – is among projects being presented to the public through a series of window installations at John Lewis Oxford Street, London, until the end of April.

Earthsuits, a Central Saint Martins project that “reimagines wearables as planetary technologies”, explores how garments and materials can support navigation, communication and survival on a changing planet Earth.

The designs have been developed by postgraduate students across Central Saint Martins courses, including MA Industrial Design, MA Narrative Environments, MA Material Futures, MA Design for Industry 5.0 and MA Biodesign.

Designs also include a bioluminescent swimsuit sustained by sunlight, gait-altering footwear and site-responsive outerwear.
