Inside Denim issue 17 out now!

Our latest issue of Inside Denim is out now! This time, we launch a new section dedicated to laundry processes, Science Behind the Fade. In it, we investigate the trend for resin coatings and metallic finishings along with PP alternatives that chemicals companies have on offer.

Tilmann Wrobel asks how the rise of Smartorial styles connects with wool denims, while looser fits are giving new prominence to the fluidity and comfort of lyocell and acetate blends. Trompe-l’oeil jeans, calling on digital printing or jacquard, are also seeing growing interest, and happen to be both very creative and very sustainable.

Our cover story maps Lycra’s partially biobased elastane as it reaches commercial volumes and how Fashion for Good has launched a pilot to add data to the lower-impact stretch fibres.

This issue’s Guest Comment is from Future Denim Lab director Kate Goldsworthy, and we also hear from designer Matthew Hegarty, Kipas’ Halit Gumuser and innovator Emily Gubbay, among others!
