SFI adds vintage denim to its toolkit
Over the years, the Star Fades International team has gathered a globally sourced collection of vintage jeans. The laundry and design studio recently revealed its new Vintage Denim Archive at a special event at its headquarters in Commerce, California. The archive of the Artistic Milliners-owned company includes hundreds of vintage garments picked up in London, Austin, Amsterdam, New York City and Los Angeles. New finds will continuously be added to the collection, it said.
With each detail having a story to tell, authentic vintage references are essential to denim industry creatives. SFI is now making this internal resource available as a seasonal tool to its clients, along with companies sourcing their fabrics through Cone Denim or Artistic Milliners.
“The Vintage Denim Archive joins SFI’s growing toolkit, which includes seasonal concepts and mood boards, wash standards, trend forecasting and wash trips – all designed to give brands the infrastructure, inspiration and access they need to scale at speed,” commented Melanie Balasa-Flottman, head of design and full package.
