High-end brand Chanel has appointed a new head of denim as part of its design team. Inès Le Calvez is returning to Paris to take up the role, following a two-year spell at Italian bridal wear brand Luisa Sposa.

Ms Le Calvez worked at Chanel earlier in her career, combining this with completing a master’s in design at the Atelier Chardon Savard fashion school in Paris.

She said she was delighted to return to Chanel now and said her experience in Italy would stand her in good stead. Her work there helped her build up a wealth of experience in product development and artisan savoir-faire, she commented.

Her command of Italian will also be of help in maintaining strong relationships between Chanel and suppliers in Italy, she added.
