Twisted barrels and novel finishes unlock Rimaks’ Denim Codes

Garment manufacturer and laundry specialist Rimaks is launching a “systems solution” for brands and retailers by working with fibre producers and mills to showcase garment innovation from fibre to finish.

Denim Codes is built around three core directions and was designed to simplify and highlight innovation, which is sometimes “diminished because there's so much noise”, explained consultant Ebru Debbag.

Garments in the Scuptured Volume collection showcase twisted, sculpted and directional styles, with Bossa fabrics made from Lenzing’s Tencel HV100. “The focus is on hand feel and giving garments a different sculpture, reinventing conventional fits and styles, using a lot of new barrel styles or a new take on the flair,” said Ms Debbag. “The cast of the fabrics is very important, we wanted to bring that freshness with both the cast and the silhouettes.”

At the centre of the Clean Line concept is Authenx, developed in collaboration with Bossa using Lycra VintageFX fibre technology. This combines lightweight rigid-look fabrics with controlled stretch and shape retention.

Intelligent Surface includes the Bodycast concept, a resin-based process that shapes garments on human-anatomy mannequins, while its new Shadowcast development is a one-step dye and wash innovation. “Rimaks is well-known for its unique finishes, especially with resins,” added Ms Debbag. “The resin works with the dye on the garment, achieving the right balance of chip-off with a soft hand feel.”
