Burlington taps urban techwear trend with Everdnym

Performance nylon with a vintage denim look: Everdnym is a new range of fabrics made by Elevate’s Burlington weaving division. Thanks to a new proprietary patent-pending dyeing process, functional polyamide fabrics can now achieve the fades of garment-washed jeans, said Juan Carlos González, Burlington sales manager for Europe. “It is a very versatile technology that can create many different looks. Our message to our customers is play with it in your laundry,” he told Inside Denim, adding that the company had already trialled laser finishing on the fabrics.

Everdnym infuses functional fabrics with a more casual aesthetic, and aligns well with the current revival of urban techwear.

The special dyeing technique can be applied to any of Burlington’s nylon and nylon/spandex products. The range includes gabardines, for chino-type items, and ripstops for sportier styles. Three shades are currently available (blue, black and brown) and the fabrics can be made from various types of nylons, including biobased and recycled yarns, with or without spandex. The technology can also be applied to knits, supplied by partner mills.
